The Park Before Dawn

Dancing under streetlights and between cigarette smoke,
Following the tendrils out of your mouth, tracing your warm lips with my cold fingertips-
Listening to blurry music – sharing faded songs
Shivering under the stars but holding on to each other and feeling warm.
Sharing breaths, passing the stardust between our blue parted lips,
Teaching you to waltz in darkness – one two three, one two three, dancing between laughs
My hand belongs in your pocket, your hands belong on me,
Nerves crackling under our bath-warmed skin – brushing the cold night off my shoulders
Laughing against your smile, melting against crinkled sheets
Floating into dreams
With you.
