Lost In Translation

Typed words on a cracked screen passing between clammy hands,
Words, feelings, emotions, don’t all make it across the gap-
Lost into the abyss of air between them
Some things are lost in translation.
But squeals of laughter running through butterflied gardens are clear,
Smiles spent in summer air against a backdrop of endless days, and
Glances shared across busy the table stuck in stiff wooden chairs are understood in clarity,
Splashes of cold shimmering water speak clearly,
Sentences are launched across the ocean but only arrive as jumbled words that have lost their sense.
But when skies were grey and overcast, and the clouds cried,
Warm hands clutched at small shaking ones between the silences-
And they understood each other perfectly.
