A Eulogy for Ana – Thin Air

Gulping down nothing
Doing lines of empty plates
Injecting thin air and water in-vain
Stomach filled with swirling dust
Friendships left out to rust
Flesh falling off the bone
Living in the negative spaces
They said home was where the heart is-
So you got lost between your ribs,
One bite forward two bites back
One day good two days bad.

Now she finally fits her case,
And they all watch –
As her weightless ashes drift to space.
